Out on the road celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album *The Beautiful Letdown*, Switchfoot brought their tour to the Beanfield Theatre in Montreal, performing the album in full. Joining them were Canada’s own The Trews (check out our photos from their set below).

As promised, they played the album start to finish, but with a twist on the order. Kicking off with "Ammunition," frontman Jon Foreman quickly engaged with the crowd. During "This Is Your Life," he jumped from the stage onto the barrier and into the audience, all without missing a beat.

Next up was "More Than Fine," followed by "Gone." Before diving into the title track, Jon took a moment to connect with fans, sharing how much he cherishes their stories about the album's impact. He expressed, “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you not only for tonight, but for the past twenty years. Thank you for letting us be your band.”

Following "Redemption," Jon recounted how he first asked guitarist/keyboardist Jerome Fontamillas to join the band, only to receive a “no.” Thankfully, he changed his mind after realizing a 9-to-5 job wasn’t for him. The energy then shifted with a slow build-up to "On Fire," leading into "Adding to the Noise."

The next two songs are undoubtedly among their biggest hits. "Meant to Live" had the crowd singing along as if they were part of the band, followed by the anthemic "Dare You to Move."

Jumping back into the crowd for "Twenty Four," Jon joked about singing the whole song in French, sharing that it’s the band’s favorite track. Judging by the crowd’s enthusiasm, it was theirs too.

With *The Beautiful Letdown* performed in full, the band continued with a selection of fan favorites. First up was "Stars" from their 2005 release *Nothing Is Sound*.

Next came "Oh Gravity," and thanks to a sign in the crowd, they treated fans to "This Is Home." "The Shadow That Proves the Sunshine" followed, and once again, a fan encounter led to "Where I Belong."

While photographing in the pit, I caught a glimpse of the setlist, which appeared to end after "Where I Belong." But as the house lights remained dimmed, the band returned for an unexpected encore with "Dark Horses."
